A  new race coming to the area this year – ideal for novices apparently.

Pocklington Triathlon – May 1st 2016

Welcome to the Inaugural “Pocklington Triathlon”.

It will be held at Pocklington School.

Pocklington is a small market town, situated at the base of the East Yorkshire Wolds. It is located 13 miles (21 km) east of York and 26 miles (42 km) north-west of Hull.  There is easy access off the A1079.

The School post code is YO42 2NJ.

The distances for the race are Swim: 400yds, Cycle: 14.1miles, Run: 3.6miles.

This race is ideal for novices and accommodates team entries.

It is a pool swim, the cycle is relatively flat one lap and on good country roads. The run is one lap on tarmac and very flat.

Competitors will be placed in waves with people of similar swimming ability.

Cost:  BTF members £30, Non BTF members £35 Relay teams £60

School Yrs 5/6 Under 11: Swim 100yds, Bike 2km, Run 1km.

School Yrs 7/8 Under 13: Swim 200yds. Bike 4km, Run 1.5km

School Yrs 9/10 Under 15: Swim 300yds, Bike 6km, Run 2km.

This race is ideal for novices. Cost: BTF members £20, Non BTF members £21.

It is a pool swim, the cycle & run are flat and on grass.
