Winter Duathlon

As part of our winter series we are to hold a winter duathlon on Sunday 31 January 2016.

The event will comprise of an approximate 2 mile run, a nine mile ride and finished with another 2 mile run.  The run will be along the riverside, flood water permitting, or along Wetherby road and the cycle leg will follow the Tad tri route.

By kind permission of Tadcaster community swimming pool the cycles racks in the car park will be the transition zone.  As yet they cannot confirm whether the changing and shower facilities will be available after the flooding event they suffered.

There will be a mass start 0930 with a safety and route briefing at 0920.  No spilt times will be recorded, only a finish time to cut down on the admin.  A simple points system of 20 points for the winner, 19 for second and so on will be used to feed into the winter series standings.  I will be looking to confirm names in the week before our race.

If anyone has a spare dog, child, grandma or similar to guard the transition zone and hold the stopwatch while we race that would be fantastic, if not I get a day off to wear all my winter skiing kit in the carpark!

As the weather cannot be guaranteed please dress sensibly, as good as our tri suits look they may not be the best choice for January…

i look forward to seeing as many of our club members, new and old, as possible.

Any questions or concerns please ask

Ian
